DJ Dance Party WaterSound Beach
After celebrating with fireworks the night before, celebrate with great music and a dance party! Head to The Big Chill in WaterSound Beach and groove to the music spun by DJ Dan Davis.
Dance the night away on July 1 and 5, 2024 6-9:30 p.m.
Here Comes the Sun Summer Concert Series
Set up your chairs and blankets and bring along your cooler full of snacks and drinks. Mondays this summer are full of entertaining musical performances in Rosemary Beach. Each performance is unique, with a different theme and performers. Event that dates that may fit your 4th of July itinerary include July 1 or 8.
30A Farmers’ Market
Stock up on delicious fruits and veggies to add to your June cookout ingredient list, or find a unique craft. The official 30A Farmers’ Market is every Sunday throughout the summer in Rosemary Beach, including several June dates. Vendors will also be selling fresh eggs, milk, cream butter, cheese, grass-fed beef, chicken, and much more.
The market is Sundays 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. and the closest date to incorporate into your 4th of July plans is July 7.
Other towns, including Seaside and Gulf Place hold farmers’ markets as well. Dates for all farmers’ markets are posted on the 30A website events calendar.
Adventures in Alys
The REP Theatre provides exciting storytelling in Alys Beach for the summer season, including dates around the 4th of July holiday. Select dates include storytelling and other dates include fun and silly improv. The event is free and takes place at the Alys Beach Amphitheatre.
Storytelling events are Mondays and Thursdays, and improv events are Wednesdays. All events start at 10 a.m.
Dune Lakes
Experience something truly unique this 4th of July. Florida is one of only two states in the U.S. and five total places around the world where coastal dunes are a natural geographic feature. The resulting dune lakes are typically shallow, irregularly shaped permanent bodies of water. The brackish and dark-colored water is due the mix of salt and freshwater sources. Enjoy a day at the lake and rent a kayak, canoe, or paddleboard for some fun on the water, purchase a combo freshwater/saltwater fishing license, or just relax and enjoy the day on the shoreline.
Kids Improv Boot Camp
If the kids liked the Adventures in Alys, they can learn improv themselves. The REP in Seaside offers a summer improv boot camp for kids age 5-12. in each week-long session, they’ll learn how to perform and share stories, as well as the craft of storytelling and theatre arts. The kids will learn the basics through workshops, teamwork exercises, and interactive games. At the end of the week, they get to show off their new skills at Friday Friends and Finale showcases.
Advanced registration on the REP website is required. Classes take place Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2-3:30 p.m. The class fee is $25/session. The showcases take place Fridays at 2 p.m. with free admission. Participants do not need to perform in the Friday shows to take part in the boot camp. There is a camp the week of the 4th with one day Tuesday and a Friday Friends and Finale showcase.
The Complete History of America (Abridged)
Billed as ‘a 90-minute comedy that covers 600 years of American history in 6000 seconds,” the show covers everything ‘from Washington to Watergate’ and more. The special event takes place July 4 at 9 a.m. Details, including tickets, are available on the Repertory Theatre of Seaside’s website.
Alys Beach Summer Concert Series
Summer is the season of concerts along 30A. Each Wednesday, including July 3, Alys Beach will be hosting concerts at its amphitheatre. Each concert spotlights a new band or style of music.
