Florida’s year-round sun and warmth are what make it the ideal getaway no matter what time of year you’re looking to get away. It also means virtually pristine weather and conditions, even for a Halloween adventure. You’ll enjoy time on the beach, whether it’s a leisurely stroll or you’re setting up for a day of basking in the sun, or even some water activities in the shimmering waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Don’t forget to check out the many local Halloween 30A events as part of your Florida Halloween fun.

Halloween on the BOOlevard

Head over to Grand Boulevard in Destin. The family-friendly event includes trick-or-treating throughout the town center. Dress in your Halloween best and visit participating vendors to score some fun treats. All are welcome at the free event that takes place 4-6 pm on Tuesday, October 31st, 2023.

Trick or Treat Street

The Village of Baytowne Wharf is inviting all ghosts, goblins, and ghouls to their spooktacular extravaganza. Trick or treat through the Village streets to score treats from participating merchants. Groove to tunes by Steve Hall on the main stage. Kids can enter the Coconut Kidz costume contest. The event takes place 6-8 pm on Tuesday, October 31st.

Pumpkin Patch

While Panama City Beach isn’t technically part of 30A, its Camp Helen State Park is just moments from Inlet Beach. The patch at Camp Helen State Park opens September 30th and is open all the way to Halloween. Come for “Saturdays in the Patch,” and enjoy wildlife-themed crafts, nature walks, games, food trucks, haunted history tours, and more. The event is every Saturday 11 am – 3 pm. To select your pumpkin, visit the patch from 9 am – 4 pm. Pumpkin prices start as low as 50 cents. Please bring cash for the payment box just in case a volunteer isn’t available.

Destin Commons Halloween Haunt

Celebrate Halloween with a spooky party at Destin Commons shopping center. The family-friendly event features creepy crafts, fantasy Halloween face painting, trick-or-treating at participating stores, and more. Your furry family member is welcome too, so if they made the trip with you dress them in their Halloween best along with the kids. There are costume contests for kids and pets, with spooktacular prizes. The 2023 date is still to be announced.

Trick-or-Treat

On the spookiest night of all – October 31st – dress in your scariest Halloween costume and get ready to yell “trick-or-treat!” throughout the neighborhoods of 30A. Communities along 30A are hosting plenty of trick-or-treat fun.

Barktoberfest

While humans enjoy Oktoberfest and Halloween, their canine companions can enjoy a different party. Bring your pup for some Halloween fun! The spooky costume “doggie social” benefits Dog-Harmony, a non-profit organization dedicated to reducing the shelter dog population. While the pups play, humans can enjoy music, beer, and light bites. Best costumes will be announced at 6:15 p.m. We treat our pets as humanely as possible, and we ask that you do as well: please no prong, shock, or choke collars at the event. It is free and open to the public, running 4:30-6:30 p.m. on October 23rd, 2023.

Witches of South Walton

Ditch the broom ride for a bike ride. The Witches of South Walton annual bike ride benefits the Children’s Volunteer Health Network. Choose from a variety of ride routes and ride October 27th, 29th, or 31st. Visit their website to choose your ride. Costumes are welcome and encouraged!

Make a donation to the Panhandle Animal Welfare Society and receive your bingo card – featuring spooky drink specials. Complete a row on your card by 9:30 p.m. to win raffle prizes. The 2023 date is still to be announced.
