The Ferrari-red colored open cockpit design of the Waco YMF-5 biplane seats the pilot and two side-by-side passengers. Look down to catch glimpses of land and sea, and the animals that inhabit it. You can opt for a short 20-minute cruise or choose one of their packages that offer time in the sky.
Dune Lakes
Head to a dune lake for a different water experience. Florida is one of just two states in the U.S. and five total locales around the world where coastal dunes are a natural geographic feature. These lakes are typically shallow, irregularly shaped permanent bodies of water. The brackish and dark-colored water is due to their unique mix of saltwater and freshwater sources. For a fun day at the lake, rent a kayak, canoe, or paddleboard. Purchase a combo freshwater/saltwater fishing license, or just relax and enjoy the day on the shoreline together.
Escape Rooms
Escape rooms are a fun way to take a break from the water and sun, or to escape a rainy day while still enjoying the fun 30A has to offer. Rooms are rated by difficulty and even come with age and group-size suggestions, so you can choose the right adventure for your group. Solve all the clues and break out in 60 minutes to win, meaning quick thinking and teamwork are a must.
Hiking
The 30A area is dotted with state parks and hiking trails for hours of outdoor fun to explore in 2024. Pack your sun gear, water, and trail snacks and head out to experience the land-based natural beauty of 30A and get some exercise, too. While you’re out in the wild, keep a lookout for local wildlife, including black bear, coyotes, deer, and osprey, to name a few. Take a break from the hike and stop in at one of the picnic areas of the state parks and fuel up for the next leg with a picnic.
Pirate Cruise
If you’re bringing the family in 2024, give them a chance to experience the sea as the pirates did. You can join Captain “Fearless” Phil and his crew aboard the Sea Dragon – it’s a swashbuckling good time! The two-hour cruise is fun for the whole family and includes wildlife watching, music, and endless pirate fun. Enjoy cold drinks, snacks, t-shirts, and other pirate booty available on board. Kids will love learning sword fighting, treasure map reading, getting pirate tattoos, pirate face painting, firing the “Kid Cannon,” and the many other activities that will be taking place throughout the ship.

Embark on an undersea adventure in 2024. There are several companies along 30A that offer tours that go below the shimmering waves of the Gulf. Get close – but not too close – to bottlenose dolphins, sharks, manatees, rays, sea turtles and a variety of fish species. Ask about daytime or sunset tours, as well as gear rental for when you’ve built your confidence and want to strike out on your own. Keep in mind if you want to SCUBA dive on your own, you’ll need to be certified before going solo.
